INTRODURRE TitanSPEE3D

Next week, SPEE3D will preview TitanSPEE3D—our groundbreaking large-format metal printer—at the Large-Scale Additive Action Team Meeting (LSAAT) in Worcester, Massachusetts.
With a build volume of 2.4m diameter x 1m tall, a printed part maximum of 2,000kg, and a 4.3m x 4.3m floor area footprint, it will create new possibilities for our work in Cold Spray Additive Manufacturing (CSAM).
TitanSPEE3D will join a family of metal printers (XSPEE3D, WarpSPEE3D, and LuceSPEE3D) that harness the power of kinetic energy to deposit a wide range of materials such as 6061 Aluminium, Alluminio Bronzo, and 316 Stainless Steel by spraying them up to three times faster than the speed of sound.
Heat treated CSAM parts have excellent strength, ductility and machinability, often outperforming their cast counterparts. This process also eliminates the need for tooling and managing large volumes of molten metal, making it faster and safer than large castings.
Why so big?
From defence to heavy manufacturing, many industries currently rely on cast molding to produce large, high-quality metal parts—a technique that dates back to 4,000BC.
Despite such a legacy, modern industry leaders have continued to struggle with its limitations.
Because the mold for each individual part must be customized, the initial cost of the process tends to be high—especially for more complex designs. And because molds must be created before production can begin, lead times can take weeks, even months.
Additionally, cast molding is typically unfit for large-scale production, which can lead to inconsistencies in quality and dimensions.
TitanSPEE3D will solve these challenges—and enable industry leaders to print quality, durable metal quickly, sustainably, and cost-effectively.
The future of CSAM
TitanSPEE3D will continue our efforts to refine our customers’ ability to effectively print metal on demand, reducing their reliance on supply chains that complicate and slow the manufacturing process.
The result?
Less operational downtime, less waste, and less risk.
TitanSPEE3D will be available to a limited number of beta customers in 2024, with the commercial release slated for 2025.
