A Maritime Solution

We’re proud to announce that Austal USA Advanced Technologies has purchased a 워프스피3D printer to further strengthen additive manufacturing development efforts at the Navy’s Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence (the Center).

Located in Danville, Virginia within the State of Virginia’s Center for Manufacturing Advancement (CMA), the Center was built to accelerate and scale the Navy’s additive manufacturing capabilities—and serves as an operational hub for a consortium of industry and academic experts.

It’s here where Austal and its team will use our WarpSPEE3D printer to expand post-delivery support and sustainment offerings for shipbuilders, maintenance providers, and the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, Royal Navy, and Royal Australian Navy across a broad range of military vessels deployed in the U.S. and ally fleets.

Here’s what makes WarpSPEE3D such a valuable addition to the group’s additive manufacturing arsenal.

Breakthroughs in maritime metal additive manufacturing

Over the last several years, SPEE3D has worked with naval leaders to expand cold spray additive manufacturing (CSAM) capabilities for the maritime industry.

From bolstering sustainment and repair capabilities to developing SUBSAFE metal printing materials like Copper Nickel니켈 알루미늄 브론즈, we remain more committed than ever to helping naval partners across the globe minimize operational downtime and strengthen security.

WarpSPEE3D will play a critical role in these efforts.

The world’s first large-format metal 3D printer to use our patented cold spray technology, WarpSPEE3D enables rapid build rates of up to 100g/minute (3.5oz/minute) for metal parts reaching up to 88 lbs. (40Kg) with a diameter up to 40″ x 30″ (1m x .7m).

Such high deposition rates will enable Austal and its team of industry leaders to create large parts typically produced with traditional cast processes. This shift will enable our naval allies to:

It’s a faster, more scalable solution that will efficiently and cost-effectively help the maritime industry meet the demands of an increasingly challenging battlespace.

앞으로의 밝은 미래

Our new partnership with Austal USA Advanced Technologies marks another milestone in the widespread adoption of our CSAM technology.

Fast, reliable, and easily deployed, our WarpSPEE3D printer will be a welcome addition to the U.S. Navy’s growing set of additive manufacturing capabilities.
